Six
cameras, one day and Sixty-five hundred participants
were part of a major safety simulation to better
prepare the City of San Jose and schools for a crisis
situation. A substitute teacher, played by a San
Jose Police Officer, began the simulation by shooting.
Dream World Video Productions covered
the non-stop, one take action as Police responded
within a few minutes, and activate the Metropolitan
Medical Task Force who brought the Fire Department
Paramedics and Office of Emergency Services. Within
13 minutes, the suspect was apprehended, and approximately
250 students were evacuated to be reunited with
their parents.
The Project: Safe City Schools simulation at Mt.
Pleasant took a year to organize. The 2/11 Mt. Pleasant
Simulation practiced existing procedures and tested
the effectiveness of new protocols for a multi-agency
response to a Code Red Critical Incident.
